eleven trades. one party.

From a complete renovation to a new bathroom or toilet: we handle the whole process ourselves, in one schedule and under one point of contact.

Complete renovation

complete renovation

The whole house or building tackled in one go: strip-out, structure, services, finishing and joinery. One party, one schedule.

A house that is being overhauled from top to bottom needs just one thing: someone who keeps the overview. That is us. We look at the property, listen to what you want and make a plan that works, structurally and practically.

Bathroom

bathroom

A new bathroom from start to finish: strip-out, pipework, electrics, waterproofing, tiling and bespoke work.

A bathroom is a small room where many trades come together. Pipework, drainage, electrics, ventilation, tiling and carpentry have to connect precisely. If something goes wrong there, you will still see it years later.

Toilet

toilet

A new toilet with concealed cistern, hand basin and tiling. Small room, precise work.

A toilet seems like a small job, but a lot comes together in a few square metres: pipework, drainage, a stud wall, electrics, ventilation, tiling and painting. Precisely because the room is small, every crooked joint or sloppy connection stands out immediately.

Carpentry

carpentry

Bespoke carpentry, our foundation: cabinets, stairs, doors, partitions, mouldings and everything that has to fit exactly.

Freiwerk started as a carpentry business. Clients increasingly asked for more, and so it became the whole renovation. But the carpentry has remained what it was: the foundation and the work we are known for.

Finishing

finishing

The final layer that decides everything: skirting, boxing in, sealing, floors and details. The difference between done and truly done.

A renovation can be technically perfect and still not feel finished. A skirting board that does not quite meet, a sealant joint that wobbles, a threshold that rattles. Those are the things you see every day.

Electrics

electrics

New consumer unit, wiring, lighting and connections. Installed before walls and floors are closed up.

During a renovation this is the moment to get the electrics right. The walls are open, the floor is up. What you install now, you will not have to cut and chase later.

Plumbing

plumbing

Water, drainage, heating and underfloor heating. Pipework you never see again, but do notice.

Pipework is the work nobody sees and everyone notices. A drain without enough fall, a pipe that ticks, a radiator that does not heat up. You notice that every day.

Plastering & painting

plastering & painting

Smooth walls and ceilings, and painting inside and out. The final layer you see every day.

Plastering and painting are the layers you see most. A wavy wall or a streaky ceiling shows in every light. That is why we only do them once all other work is finished, and we do them properly.

Tiling

tiling

Wall and floor tiles in bathroom, toilet and kitchen. Waterproof underneath, flawless on top.

Good tiling does not start with the tile, but with the substrate. A flat wall, a floor with the right fall and a waterproof layer in the wet zone. Only then comes the tile.

Structural work

structural work

Load-bearing walls out, steel beams in, openings and new floors. With a structural engineer and the right calculation.

An open kitchen-living room, an opening to the extension, a stairwell in a new place. The best renovations often start with a wall that has to go. That is not demolition, but structural work.

more information
Masonry

masonry

New walls, bricked-up openings, facade repairs and extensions. Masonry that matches the existing.

Masonry in an existing house is different from new build. You do not build from scratch, you build on what is there. A new opening in a facade, a window that becomes a door, an extension against a wall a hundred years old.
